Alvin Dumont, SMSgt (E8), USAF (Ret.) went to be with the Lord on Sept. 17, 2014, at the VA Hospital in his hometown of Rancho Cordova, CA. Alvin served in the USAF for 26 years. After retirement he worked in civil service as a Communications Operations SUPT and Communications Electronics Program Manager at McClellan and Mather Air Force Bases. He was full of faith, loved his family dearly, and had a sincere gratitude for a long, full, and blessed life. We will miss our loving husband, father, and grandfather greatly. Alvin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Dumont, his son Joseph Dumont, Rancho Cordova, CA; his daughters Carolyn (Anthony) Tran, Roseville, CA, Christine Dumont, Fayetteville, AR; granddaughters Ashliegh Dumont, Alexandra Tran; grandsons Phillip Tran and Joseph Dumont. Alvin was preceded in death by his son, Michael Dumont. A burial mass will be held at Saint John Vianney Church, 10497 Coloma Road, Rancho Cordova on Tuesday Sept. 23, at 11:00. A rosary will be held at 10:30 with mass to follow. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Alvin who lost his battle with cancer.
