Farrell Lish Green, 93, longtime resident of Pocatello, passed away late Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Idaho State Veterans Home from causes incident to age. He was born July 21, 1921 in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, a son of Erban and Sarah Fairzina Lish Green Orgill.He attended schools in McCammon, Idaho and graduated from McCammon High School in 1939. Farrell participated in various sports including football, wrestling and baseball. He served in the U.S Army in Europe during World War II in France, Germany and Austria. Following his discharge in 1946, he returned to McCammon and attended vocational trade school at the University of Idaho Southern Branch now (I.S.U.) to learn the carpenter trade. He worked in 9 states through the Carpenters Union for 34 years working mostly for Cahoon Construction and Mitchell Construction Company. On September 15, 1949, he married Anna L. Roth in Pocatello. Anna passed away January 27, 2008. He enjoyed sports and supported I.S.U. Athletics and local high school teams. In 63 years he missed only two I.S.U. home football games. He also attended ISU basketball (both men and woman) and volleyball games. He could usually be seen sitting next to his friend Gay Hudson. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Farrell and Anna had no children of their own, however they are survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Farrell is also survived by a brother Maurice (Bernice) Green, Tulare, California; a sister Zina Jane Goodwin, South Jordan, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and their spouses, William LaMont Green, Lyndon Green and Richard Green, Fannie Palmer and Rosemond Henson. Farrell will always be remember for the help he was to his neighbors. He cared for a neighbor with MS for many years. He took her to church, drove her to her work and fed her until she passed away. Farrell was always ready to help anyone who needed help either through personal service or lending money to get them through tough times. Several times he and Anna opened their home to people when they needed a place to stay. Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Norton Cemetery, McCammon, Idaho.
