Neil Johnson, 58, Minot, ND, formerly of Deering, ND, passed away peacefully Monday, September 22, 2014, at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Neil Edward Johnson was born July 5, 1956, the son of Earl and Elaine (Whitson) Johnson, in Minot, ND. He was raised in Deering and educated in Minot.

In the fall of 1985, he moved with his parents to Minot, where Neil was placed with REM. He was later enrolled for services at the Minot Vocational Adjustment Workshop, now known as KALIX. During this time, he worked in various capacities. Fridays to him was payday and Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays were his days off, which he always kept track of.

He was a member of 2nd Story in Minot. He really enjoyed playing Bingo and dance nights.

He enjoyed clocks, mainly shopping for them. He never had too many. He enjoyed watching television and keeping the REM staff on their toes.

Surviving family includes: brother, Lance (Darla) Johnson; sister, Dana (Donald) Henson; two nieces, four nephews, one great niece; four great nephews and numerous cousins.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Leslie “Bunky” Corbin; and many aunts and uncles.
