Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, Sep 25 2014 - Owen E. Boyd, 80, Lynnwood, WA, died Wednesday September 17, 2014, after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born on October 22, 1933, in Clinton, the son of John Lee Boyd and Emma Minnie Elizabeth (Dody) Boyd. Owen married Beverly D. Keeney in Pullman, WA, on April 27, 1957, his wife of 57 years. Owen came to Washington state by train in 1951 to work for his Uncle Bill Boyd, a wheat farmer, Pullman, later to be drafted into the Army during the Korean War in 1953. After his military service, he returned to Missouri hoping to make it his home, although jobs were scarce. He moved back to Pullman. In the fall of 1956 he started working for Boeing, thus moving to the Seattle area and retiring in the spring of 1989. In 1961 he became a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, later becoming a lifetime member. His favorite pastime was fishing at the local lakes and walking at the mall. Owen is survived by his wife, Beverly; a daughter, Vickie Burnham, Lynnwood, WA; a son, Doug Boyd, Mountlake Terrace, WA; three grandchildren, Ryan Burnham and Garin Burnham, both of Marysville, WA, and Kaytlin Burnham, Lynnwood, WA, and two great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Logan Burnham, Marysville, WA. Also surviving are a sister, Opal Howard, Windsor; a brother, Gene Boyd, Strasburg, CO; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Boyd and Mary Robbins, both of Clinton, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Boyd, Johnny Lee Boyd and Roy Boyd and a sister, Della Maye Fowler, all of Missouri, and three nephews, Steven Eugene Boyd of Colorado, Roy Bradley Boyd and Joseph Wayne Howard, both of Missouri. Funeral Services were held at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, Lynnwood, WA, Thursday, September 25, with burial following in Evergreen Gardens, Lynnwood.
