Fatal Accident
"Locke Martin, aged about 23 years, son of Police Juror Edmond Martin, of the third ward, was fatally injured Monday night about nine o'clock. While near a syrup mill at Mouton Switch his coat became caught in the cogs and he was drawn into the machinery, his side and back being badly crushed. He died of his injuries Wednesday morning. Funeral services were held yesterday morning at 8:30 o'clock at St. John's church."

"Lafayette.--Lock martin, 23 years old, who was mangled in the machinery of a syrup mill at Mouton Switch, is dead. He was not employed at the mill, but was showing a man how to feed the cane crushers, when his clothes caught in the machinery."
