Marquerite Batiste Lee a lifelong resident of New Orleans and parishioner of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church., passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 1, 2014 at the Bailey Center in St. Augustine, Fl. A retired LPN (31 yrs) of Charity Hospital. She was the loving daughter of the late Alfred J. Batiste, Sr., and Marquerite Baptiste Batiste. Wife of the late Milton H. Lee. Beloved mother of Marguerite L. Jefferson, Wanda L. (Horace) Little, Lyn L. (Tyrone) Smith, Alfreda L. (Limuel) Davis, Theresa L. (Philip) Washington, Deborah A., John J. (Linda)Sr., Ronnie and the late Terri R. Lee, adopted sons Daniel Patnett, Robert Strowder, Alfred Davis Sr., and Ellis Johnson Jr., Cherished sister of Alfred J. Jr., and the late Clarence J. Sr., and James J. Batiste. Also survived by sister-in-law Marva P. Batiste, a devoted friend Albert Griffin, 22 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
