His home and farm was adjacent to the homestead of Benjamine and when the estate was divided he acquired that portion of the land on which the old buildings and orchard were situated. He remodeled the residence and spent his last days on the home site of his parents. He was a great reader of the Bible. He and his family were brought up in the Lutheran faith, but in recent years became a Free Methodist.
