Dan Alford of Lake Butler, FL, 78, passed through the door to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 29, 2014. He was born on August 1, 1936 in North Columbia County to Riley and Georgia Hines Alford and was the youngest of 14 brothers and sisters. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He will be greatly missed by the ones that loved him. He is survived by two sons and spouses, Earl and Shawnie Renee Alford of High Springs and John and Maggie and Karli Alford of Gainesville; one brother, George Edger Alford of Lake City and one sister, Delma Cobb of Middleburg. A visitation will be held at Evans-Carter Funeral Home in High Springs on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 4 - 6 p.m. and a funeral service on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery north of Lake City at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Haven Hospice or the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are being handled by Evans-Carter Funeral Home, 220 N. Main Street, High Springs, FL 32643.
