Motor racing driver. Silvio Moser was born in Zurich, Switzerland, and made his name racing in Formula 3 during the mid-1960s. His first F1 race was at the 1967 British GP in an uncompetitive Cooper-ATS. For 1968 he bought an ex-works Brabham-Repco BT20 which resulted in a best finish in 5th place at the Dutch GP at Zandvoort. 1969 saw him race a Brabham BT24. For the 1970 season he commissioned the Italian manufacture Bellasi to build him an F1 car, but the Bellasi F170 turned out to be a hopeless car which either failed to qualify or retired from all of his five GPs that year. After another retirement in the 1971 Italian GP at Monza, that was the end of Moser's time in F1. In 1974 at the Monza 1000km sportscar race at Monza, an incident took place out on the circuit and as Moser was touring back to the pits without his seatbelts fastened, he crashed receiving serious head injuries. A month later, at the Ospedale La Carita (Charity Hospital) at Locarno, Switzerland, he died.
