Florence came into this world as Florence Geraldine Trosi in Fresno, CA. She grew up in vintage Fresno through The Great Depression of the 1930's. Both of her parents immigrated to the United States from Italy.

The Trosi family started out on a small farm in Kerman. They later moved to a home on McKenzie street in Fresno. Florence grew up in a very disciplined, Catholic upbringing. She was always the rebellious one who fought for her independence.

In 1944 she graduated from Roosevelt High School. After graduation, this precocious daughter of Italy made a bold move when she moved to San Francisco. She worked for Santa Fe Railroad and Columbia Steel as a telegrapher.

While in San Francisco she met the love of her life, Archie Brand. After a whirlwind romance they were married in 1947. They lived in the Dalles, OR in the early years where sons Gary and Lee were born.

In 1954, Florence and her new family moved back to the nest in Fresno. This was a close family with Florence's family, her parents, brothers and sister all living on the same block.

Florence was a devoted wife and mother.

In 1961, her daughter Janae was born. Her baby Janae was her joy being born many years after Gary and Lee.

Tragedy struck Florence and her family in 1964, when her husband Archie was killed in a plane crash. She never remarried or recovered from the loss of her beloved Archie. She was, however, sustained by the love and support of her close knit family.

In her later years she loved to cook, shop, go to flea markets and spend time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Archie Brand; her father, Ralph Trosi; her mother, Pierini Trosi; and her younger brother, Charles Trosi.

Florence is survived by her son, Gary Brand of Fresno; her daughter, Janae Brand of Marina Del Rey; her son, Lee Brand of Fresno and his wife Trish, and their children Charity, Phillip, Thomas, and Emily; and great-grandchild Kylie.

She is also survived by her brother, Frank Trosi and his son Charles Trosi; and her sister, Rose Trosi.

Now, after too many years away from her beloved husband, Florence can now join Archie. She will rest next to him for eternity.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 11:00 a.m.
