Ralph Hlebak, age 90, of Chardon, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010.

He was born May 22, 1920, to the late Michael and Gizella Hlebak in Homer City, Pa.

Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Josephine Blatnik on Dec. 27, 1924. He enjoyed the outdoors and he traveled throughout the United States with his wife, Sophie.

Ralph worked as an auto mechanic for 45 years and spent many of those years working at Jackshaw Chevrolet.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine "Sophie" Hlebak; his children, Ralph (Penny) Hlebak of Jackson Hole, Wyo., Betty (Dennis) Palsa of Munson and Gary Hlebak of Kent; granddaughter, Lauren Palsa; and brother, Frank Hlebak of Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Agnes, Louis, Raymond, Bert, Clara and Bill.

A memorial gathering will begin at 5 p.m. at the home of Betty and Dennis Palsa, 12345 Valley Vista Dr., Munson Township, with a prayer service celebrating his life at 5:30 p.m.
