David Ethan Allen

BRIGHAM CITY - David Ethan Allen, age 79, passed away on March 14, 1995. He was born October 21, 1915 in Providence, Utah to Albern Ethan and Winnifred Oldham Allen. He married Nora Athalie Howell December 23,1938 in the Logan LDS Temple. They celebrated 56 years of marriage this past December.

He graduated from Utah State University and taught high school for two years. During WWII, he worked in the defense industry. He earned a reputation as an excellent Industrial Engineer and worked for several major companies. He retired from Thiokol Corporation in 1978 after l9 years of service.

David always enjoyed being outdoors, golfing, fishing and hunting. He loved to travel around the United States and to many other countries. He was skilled in silver smithing and rock polishing. He was active in scouting for many years. He and his wife enjoyed spending winters in Yuma, Arizona for the past 17 years.

He was a High Priest and Home Teacher LDS Church. He and his wife served a two-year Temple Ordinance Mission.

He is survived by his wife, Athalie, Brigham City; sons: David M. and Ione AIlen, Brigham City; R. Bruce and Janice Allen, Brigham City; Brent H. and Laurie Allen, Sunset; Dr. Michael E. and Julie Allen, Brigham City; daughter: Athalie and Milton A. Maughan, Brigham City; 25 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is aiso survived by three sisters: Lucile Walker, Maude Chambers, and Ruth Skidmore; one brother, Wallace F. Allen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday. March 18, 1995, 10:00 a.m. at the Olsen-Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to g p.m. and on Saturday from 9 to 9:40 a.m.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
