Evelyn Doris Utter CHERRY VALLEY

Evelyn Doris Utter, 82, passed away
Friday, June 24, 2011, at Otsego Manor,
Cooperstown.
She was born July 4, 1928, in Cherry
Valley, the daughter of Harold I. and
Margaret (Lane) Doolittle.
She was married to Harold D. Utter on
May 21, 1949, at the Grace Episcopal
Church, Cherry Valley.
She owned and operated a dairy farm with
her husband until the1980s,was a secretary
at Beech-Nut Packing Co., Canajoharie,
food service worker at CVS, and the Otsego
County Tourism Bureau.
She was a charter member of the Cherry
Valley Firemen's Auxiliary,and she was a
board member and membership secretary at
the Cherry Valley Historical Association.
She was a devout member of Grace Episcopal
Church, as she served on the Vestry as
Senior Warden for many years.
Evie thoroughly enjoyed all of the many
outings and travels with her family and
friends. Known to many as "Nana" she
treasured the time spent with her children,
grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Her
love of hospitality and entertaining was
enjoyed by many.
She was extremely devoted to her community,
and country and she never missed an
opportunity to fly and honor the American Flag.

Survivors include her daughters, Merrilee Ann
Collins and her husband, Paul, Margaret Lynn
Solomczak and her husband, Carlos
grandchildren, Daniel R., Gage, Darrell I.
Gage, Peggy K. Collins, Max J. Collins;
great-grandchild, Emma L. Collins; a
sister-in-law, Isabelle Searles; and
several cousins, nieces and nephews.
