Andrew married Lucy Jane Wyatt on April 5, 1877 in Clark County, Kentucky. The couple were the parents of Marshall and James R. Hathaway. Mr. Hathaway earned his living by working as a day laborer. He passed away from the effects of interstitial nephritis, with a duration of six months, complicated by edema, with a duration of one month.
