TRURO - Matthew Thomas Frizzell, 80, of Pictou Road, Bible Hill, died Thursday in Colchester Hospital. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late William and Ellen (Murphy) Frizzell. He served for 35 years on the staff of the Agricultural College and served overseas during the First World War with the 40th and 25th Battalions. Surviving are his wife, the former Laura Long; four sons, Wilbur, Leo, Stephen and Jerome, all of Truro; eight daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Gordon LeRoy), Tacoma, Wash.; Beverley (Mrs. Gardner Rath), Elsie (Mrs. Vernon Archibald) and Shannon, all of Truro; Louise (Mrs. James MacKay), Coleen (Mrs. John McAloon) and Audrey (Mrs. George Tysiack), all of Toronto; and Patricia, Halifax; 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Samuel and Robert, both of Truro; a sister, Mrs. Edward Pokormy, Florida. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Lillian Kennedy. The body is at Kennedy Memorial Residence where funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. Donald Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Bible Hill cemetery.
