Beverley Jean Rath passed away peacefully on Friday, August 17, 2012 in Nanaimo, British Columbia at the age of 89. She was the daughter of Matthew Thomas Frizzell and Lillian Maude Frizzell (nee Kennedy) of Bible Hill, Nova Scotia. Beverley was born in Truro, Nova Scotia on July 8, 1923. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Gardner Rath, grandson, Kieran MacKay, son-in-law, Philip MacKay and sisters Dorothy Leroy, Louise McKay, Elsie Archibald and sister-in-law, Angela Frizzell and two brothers Stephen Frizzell and Leo Frizzell.

Beverley will be missed by her surviving loved ones: by her step-mother Laura Frizzell, brothers, Wilbur Allen Frizzell, Jerome Frizzell and sisters Colleen McAloon, Audrey Tyfiake,Patricia Frizzell and Shannon Sodero, her loving children Thomas Chesley Rath, Dorothy Eva Armstrong, Mary Jane MacKay, Barbara Jean Fraser and her husband Allan, Glenn George Rath and his wife Debbie and Ritchie Gardner Rath. Beverley was the proud grandmother of Jeffrey Armstrong, Timothy Armstrong, Genevieve Morgan, Matthew Fraser, Shannon Rath, Rebecca Rath, and Sean Rath and proud great grandmother of Dallas Armstrong, Kennedy Armstrong, Delaynie Armstrong and Sydney Jean Armstrong. She is also survived by her dear friend Marion Pratt who has been in her life since 1943. Her family recognizes how fortunate they have been to have shared their lives with such a remarkable lady who cared a great deal about them all.

Beverley graduated from the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing in 1946. Throughout her career, she practiced nursing in Truro, Nova Scotia, Lethbridge, Alberta and Victoria, British Columbia. Upon retiring, Beverley moved to Nanaimo, British Columbia.
Beverley was a member of the Bowen Senior Centre in Nanaimo. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, line dancing, sewing and spending time with her family.
A memorial Mass was held for Beverley at St. Peter's Church in Nanaimo on Friday, August 24 at 10:30. Her remains are now in the Camden Cemetery, Camden, Nova Scotia. She would be pleased to know that she is in her final resting place beside Gardy. Beverley Jean Rath lived her life to the fullest and will be forever missed by her loved ones.
