John Mauritz, 85, of 1103 llth St., died Sunday at 5 p.m. at his home. He had been in failing health for several months. He was born Oct. 12, 1870, in Austria, and came to Oshkosh when 17 years of age. He was married April 24, 1904, to Miss Anna Raab in Oshkosh. Mr. Mauritz was a woodworker until his retirement. He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of the church.
Surviving are his wife, Anna; one daughter, Mrs. Cyril Boushele, Oshkosh; five sons, Joseph, William, Andrew, Raymond and John Mauritz Jr., all of Oshkosh; one brother, Joseph Mauritz, Oshkosh; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 8.30 a.m. at Poklasny Funeral Home and 9 a.m.. at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Louis M. Schorn officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
