Louisa Jane was the fifth of ten children born to Dr. Francis Palm and his wife Catharine Reeser, who made their home in Friedensburg, Oley Township, Berks County.
Louise Jane married Cornelius Loos, a German Evangelist minister, of Centre Township in 1850. They made their home in Schuylkill Haven, then in Pottsville, Schuylkill County; and had seven children -- Emma Catherine, Nathaniel Francis, Minerva Palm, Pancoast, Elmer Palm, Edith, and Alice.
Louise lived only 38 years and left her husband a widower. He survived her by almost 40 years.
