Kramer showed up as a stray,some neighborhood kids came by with him saying they thought he had been dropped off. He was maybe 4-5 months old and my first thought was that he had the mange just because of his lack of hair in a few spots but I told them to bring him back if they didn't find his "home". Thankfully they didn't and we were lucky enough to give him a home for 16 years.
His first few years were pretty normal, chewing a few things that he shouldn't have and finding a way out of the backyard but he never ran off, we would just find him in the front yard. After that and with no formal training he was the best dog I/we could have ever hoped for.
Sadly he unexpectly became sick in early January, he appeared to have a stroke, collapsing but not losing consciousness late on a Sunday night. Tests showed that wasn't the case but that he had an extremely enlarged liver (even though he was taken for a yearly checkup at the very least) that took him from us in less than a month.
