Visitation is Monday, 2 until 8 p.m., with a memorial service at 6 p.m. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mount Prospect. Family and friends will gather for a last remembrance Tuesday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Willow Lawn Memorial Park, Vernon Hills.
Born in Chicago, at rest June 22, 2012, at home. Helen was a resident of Mount Prospect for 59 years and a retired realtor. She was involved with the Mount Prospect Junior Women's Club, where she became the radio, motion picture and TV director for the 7th District of the Women's Club. She contributed countless volunteer hours to the Northwest Suburban (now Latoff) YMCA. There, she acted as lifeguard, snack bar attendant, racquetball tournament official, and placed 4th in the Women's State Racquetball Tournament. In 1985, she joined Starck and Company Realtors in Mount Prospect and helped many local residents with their real estate dreams. She loved all animals, and raised from babies: Honey-Babe, a cocker spaniel dog; Cinnamon, a cat that lived for 19½ years; and Sunny, an orange tabby cat who was her treasure in her golden years. She was dearly loved by her family and the many friends she had made during her life. The family wishes to thank those caregivers who made her life easier the past two years, with special thanks to Nancy J. McMillan, Laura M. Heath and Yuridia Rendon. Floral arrangements are appreciated.
