Mrs. Dortha M. (Brown) Kingma, of Buck Creek, Route 12 Lafayette, died at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette.

Mrs. Kingma was born near Rossville on June 10, 1909, the daughter of William and Flora (Knappenberger) Brown. She spent nearly all her life in the Rossville, Lafayette, and Buck Creek communities. She graduated from Rossville High School.

Mrs. Kingma was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Wabash Farmers Club, Extension Homemakers Club and was a former 4-H club leader.

Mrs. Kingma's husband, Raymond H. Kingma, died in 1961. They were married in 1939. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Michael Nubert, Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Alberta Sheets of Indianapolis and Mrs. Miriam Lipp of near Frankfort; two brothers, Ward of Crawfordsville and Nelson of near Mulberry. Two grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kingma were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the St. Boniface Church in Lafayette with Rev. Edward Oberg officiating with burial in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
