Eric E. Witte, 84, of 1714 N. 11th St., died Sunday morning at Rocky Knoll after a prolonged illness.
Born in Germany on Feb. 15, 1884, he was the son of the late Herman and Mathilda Koehler Witte, and came to Sheboygan with his family at the age of three.
His first wife, the former Bertha Kau, died in 1940.
On Aug. 30, 1945, he married Selma Neils Bentz in Milwaukee. The couple made their home in Sheboygan since.
A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mr. Witte was employed as a carver at the R-Way Furniture Co. for over 40 years, retiring in 1953.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. George (Lillian) Jenen, Green Bay, and Mrs. Martin (Violet) Jordan, Wauwautosa; a son, Harvey, Sheboygan; two step-children, Mrs. Reuben (Eileen) Aigner, Sheboygan, and Prof. Donald Bentz, Callawhee, N. C., six grandchildren and one brother, William, Sheboygan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Thursday at Nickel's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harvey Krueger, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
