Barbara A. Grumbling, 74, of Spring Township, died October 12, 2014 at 10:44 p.m. in the Reading Hospital, where she had been admitted earlier in the day. She was the wife of the late Ronald H. Grumbling, who died November 24, 2011. Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Lester E. and Bertha (Schweitzer) Kachel. She worked in the mail room for National Bank of Boyertown until retiring. She was a member of Community Evangelical Church, Sinking Spring. She enjoyed golf, tennis and loved crafts, especially weaving, quilting, sewing and knitting. She is survived by her daughters. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Betty J. Kachel (1938) and Emily Arlene Blimline (1938). Funeral services from Community Evangelical Church, 51 Green Valley Rd, Sinking Spring, on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor B. Bruce Wagner and Pastor Barry Zimmerman officiating. Interment, next to her parents, in Allegheny Union Cemetery, Brecknock Township.
Friends and relatives may call Thursday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. It was Barbara's wish that her casket be closed. The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington is assisting the family.
