Theodore “Pete” S. Enz of Appleton, 95, departed this life peacefully while surrounded by loving family on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born in Kewaunee on January 5, 1919, the eighth child of parents David and Ella (Plantico) Enz. Pete served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in North Africa and throughout Europe. After his discharge, he married Angeline R. Borusky on August 27, 1949, and together they had one daughter, Judy, in 1953. Pete owned and operated Enz Market in Kewaunee, a general store and meat market. In 1966, the family moved to Appleton, where Pete worked for the city until his retirement. Besides making what most agree was the best chicken noodle soup in the world, he enjoyed many hours tinkering in his wood shop. In later years, he never passed up a chance to go out for breakfast before a trip to the casino for a day at the slots. Family meant everything to Pete, who is survived by his wife of 65 years, Angeline, his daughter, Judy Enz and grandchildren; Crystal (Jason) Daley of Lake Mills, WI and Kevin Krueger of Appleton, WI. Pete is further survived by sisters-in-law, Lorraine and Dorothy, plus numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and all nine of his siblings: Ethel, Lloyd, Harry, Alyce, Lester, Evangeline, Dan, Lee, and Hugo.

A memorial service for Pete will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, September 26, 2014 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street, in Appleton, with visitation beginning at 10:30AM. After the service, family and friends are invited to gather for lunch at a nearby restaurant. A graveside service including military honors will be held at 2:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
