Betty Jo O’Bryan, 86 of Hix, went to be with the Lord at 5:10 p.m. Thursday October 23, 2014 at Harper Mills Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Beckley following a long illness.
Born July 11, 1928 at Sandstone, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Jessie Mae Kincaid Taylor.
Mrs. O’Bryan was a homemaker and member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church at Hix where she was a devoted member of the church family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed by her loved ones and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin O’Bryan. One son, J.R. O’Bryan and three sisters, Pearl Tincher, Dainese Ames and Imogene Lyons.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda O’Bryan of Hix. One brother, Jay Taylor of Hinton. Three grandchildren, Bryan Adkins & wife Tammy of Hix, Michael Adkins & wife Kathy of Cool Ridge and Bethany O’Bryan of Hix. Six great grandchildren, Mikayla, Noah, Dustin and Zackery Adkins, and Sasha and Adrian Lilly. Two great, great grandchildren, Jesse Stover and Collin Dilly.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday October 26, 2014 at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church at Hix with Pastors Benny Allen and Tim Roberts officiating.
Burial will follow in the O’Bryan Cemetery at Hix. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church.
Pallbearers will be; Jeff Pomeroy, Randy Dunfee, Dino Ward, Carlos Adkins, Paul Blankenship and Eddie Richmond.
