Jane Docker was born on October 15, 1831 in Shawneetown, Gallatin County, Illinois. Her parents were William Alderson Docker and Harriet Olney. Jane married Thomas Shannon Ridgway (son of John Ridgway and Mary Fraser Grant) on September 20, 1849 in Gallatin County, IL. They had five children named Harriette (Mrs. Benjamin Morton Hair), William, Helen, Ida, and Grant. Jane died on March 10, 1911 in Evanston, Cook County, IL and was buried in Westwood Cemetery.
