Laverne Parker, age 86, of Lucedale passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at George
Regional Medical Center of Lucedale, MS. Mrs. Parker was born March 19, 1928 in Lucedale,
MS. She is the daughter of the late Sam and the late Kate (Dickerson) Hathorn. She was
predeceased by her husband, Toller Parker, her son, Douglas Parker and a sister Agnes Knight
She was employed by Glen Oaks Nursing Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
She is survived by two daughters: Mae Rucker and Susie Richardson of Mobile, AL and son:
Shannon Parker of Lucedale, MS; ; She also has six grandchildren, Owen Rucker; Bobby
Rucker; Suzanne Neese; James Richardson; Leona Fairley; Genie Holder; seven Great
grandchildren, Peyton Rucker; Collin Rucker; Samantha Layton; , Julia Layton; Katie
Richardson; Blake Fairley; Colien Holder; Great Great Grandchild, Millie Fairley.
The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Sigler Funeral Home, with
Rev. Sam Jones officiating. Burial will be in Agricola Cemetery.
