Emma (Dodds) Andrews was born on March 11, 1859 in Ohio, the daughter of George Thomas Dodds (1830-1903) and Anna Jane (Wharton) Dodds (1836-1899) (both parents born in England).

She was just a little girl when her family moved to Davidson County, Tennessee about the end of the Civil War, and she was married on June 17, 1882 in Nashville to Harvey Robert Andrews (1853-1924), the son of E W Andrews (ca 1818- ).

A member of the Methodist church, Emma was living with her daughter Mrs J H Anderson at 1911 Fatherland Street in Nashville. She was 82 years old and a widow when she died at home of pneumonia on February 21, 1942.

Survivors included daughters Mrs J H Anderson, Mrs J H McMahon and Mrs Ben Overton of Nashville and Mrs H L Redding in Whites Creek, son M V Andrews in Nashville and sisters Mrs J H Ozane of Goodlettsville and Mrs C E Gupton of Whites Creek.

Funeral Services were held on February 23rd at Cosmopolitan Funeral Home, and burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
