Vinal's work was connection Soda disfusers, and Clayton was a Salesman for an Advertising Co. Earl and Phebe were not working.
In 1940 Rececca owned a small house, valued at $100.00 in Rural Louisville, Clay Co., Illinois. She revealed that she had a source of income. Phebe had married and was divorced and had retained her maiden name, but she was not working and gave no sign of income.
Illinois, Deaths and Stillbirths Index, 1916-1947 confirmed that Robecca's beloved daughter, Phoebe Fay Smith passed away on Aug. 5, 1941. She was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana,Illinois, in a plot near her father.
Robecca's obituary said that she spent the last 4 month of her life as a patient in the Champaign Co. Nursing Home. Robecca Evalyn Culbertson Smith exhaled her last breath at 11:15am, December 22, 1954, when her spirit returned to God her Maker.
