Rachael Greene, whse maiden name was Adams, was a daughter
of Squire and Polly Adams. She was bornon Cove Creek June 9th,
1839 and was married to Jacob Greene Oct.25,1857. She professed religion at the age of 16 or 17 under the preaching of Rev.Jacob
Greene, Sr., and joined the Baptist Church at Cove Creek in 1883.
She was the mother of 13 children, seven of whom died in infancy.
The six remaining all have families now but one. Mrs.Greene died
Sept.21,1899, after several months of Illness. Her death was sad to her husband and children, a large family connection and numerous friends, but her's was a triumphant death, as she left unmistakable
evidence of the reward that awaits all who died in faith of a glorious
acceptance beyond this life. She was a mother and friend to all who applied to her for help. Generous and kind in all the walks of life, and
she died trusting in her Savior implicitly. She saw her way without any mists or clouds of doubt, and left the evidence with her family
and friends of the triumphant death of a Christian. She was familiarly known as Aunt Betsy, and was considered by all as a model Christian woman. She has passed from us to meet her savior and loved ones
above.
