Mr. Stear was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, the Dayton Fire Department, and the Dayton Council Junior Order of United American Mechanics.
He was survived by his wife, four sons; William E. Stear, Angus Duane Stear of Ohio, Leroy of Dayton, John of Dayton; one daughter, Mrs. Donna Kroft of Dayton and two sisters; Mrs. Catherine Good of Dayton, and Mrs. Ruth Fetterhoff of Niagara Falls, NY.
