SON OF ARTHUR ELLSWORTH AND IDA MAY AMADON ROBERTS. He moved to Island Pond, Vermont as a young child. His father left the family in 1896. Young Arthur ultimately joined his father in Half Moon, New York and ultimately found work in the New York State penitentiary system. He was married firstly to Clara Flynn and they were the parents of three children. Arthur maintained contact with his half-siblings and visited his only surviving full sibling Eluvia in London, Ontario in the early 1920s. Following Clara's premature death he remarried on November 18, 1933 in Dannemora, New York to BLANCHE VINCENT. He kept in touch with his sister and following her death visited London for the last time in 1968.
