Jake A. Hale Dies

Jake A. Hale died at his home in Summit Township on Saturday Morning, July 8. He was 82.

Mr. Hale was born on the same farm on the same farm he died, On Aug 14, 1889, the son of James and Mary Fudge Hale. He was married to Sarah A. Hughes, at Red Cloud, NE, on Nov 19, 1913, and they lived on his parents farm. He was a farmer and mechanic and also operated a threshing machine for many years in this area.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Vevian Hale of Jamestown; 3 daughters, Eva, now Mrs. Arthur Eakins of Concordia; Mae now Mrs. Wallace House of Meade, NE.; and Betty Jeans, now Mrs. Robert Skaggs of Chicago, IL.; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and one brother James E. Hale of Concordia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the Blachley and Bouy funeral home in Jamestown.
