From Wikipedia: Francesco Buonamici (born 21 October 1832 in Pisa and died on 18 May 1921 (88 years) in the same city) is a lawyer and professor of Italian law. Francesco Buonamici began teaching at the University of Pisa on 12 January 1860, as assistant professor of Italian law and commercial law and became a full professor of commercial law on 4 April 1867. On 9 October 1873, he became professor of Roman law and institutions. In 1896, he succeeded Filippo Serafini as rector of the University of Pisa and 2 October 1897 he re replaced it for teaching Digest. Also in 1896, he was appointed Senator of the Kingdom of Italy. Francesco Buonamici was a member of the Accademia dei Lincei. On the from of his birthplace in Pisa (located today Piazza Buonamici) is a plaque bearing the following inscription: (translated from Italian) "In this house was born and lived Francesco Buonamici illustrates Roman law at the University of Piza and a member of the Italian Senate, worthy son of his hometown, where he fills up a advanced to the highest public office entrusted to him by the unanimous consent of the free people age 1832-1921."
