CANBY — Services for Mrs. Agnes Bicek, 55, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with burial in the Canby Cemetery. Visitation begins at 4 p.m. today at the Voigt and Livingston Funeral Home in Canby. She died Monday at the Canby Community Hospital.
She was born Feb. 14, 1924, to Edmond and Emma VanDerostyne in Lyon County. She was raised in Lyon and Yellow Medicine counties and attended rural schools.
On Feb. 24, 1946, she married Donald Bicek at Canby.
She was employed at Swift and Co. at Marshall for 15 years prior to her recent illness.
Survivors include her husband; children, Mrs. Michael (Carolyn) Marertens of Edina, Mrs. James (Nancy) Kelly of Bloomington, Donald and Susan of Chaska, Mrs. Bruce (Sharon) Madsen of Canby; five grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ervin (Genevieve) Eischens of Canby, Mrs. Wilford (Evelyn) Antony of Canby, Lawrence VanDerostyne, Donald VanDerostyne of Tyler, Mrs. Edwin (Katherine) Skorczewski of Canby, Raymond VanDerostyne of Canby.
She was preceded in death by one son, James, and her parents.
