THREE PERISH IN RAPIDS WHEN CANOE IS WRECKED ANN ARB0R STUDENTS AND GIRL VICTIMS OF HURON RIVER ACCIDENT. Ann Arbor, Mich.. March 31.

Two men students and a former girl student of the University of Michigan were drowned in a canoe accident on the Huron River here late last night. They were Miss Ella Rysdorpe of Spring Lake, Mich.: Henry Bacon, of Pontiac, Mich., and Arthur [Archibald J.] Crandall. of Portland., N. Y.

Their canoe had been wrecked on the rapids near a dam above this city. Crandall, an expert swimmer, left temporary safety to summon aid for the others, and was swept over the dam. Miss Rysdorpe sank from exhaustion, and Bacon lost his life in saving the fourth member of the party, Miss June Hicks, of Detroit. [ this presumed to have been Priscilla J. Hicks ]

J. E. Crandall and son Cary [sic] left last
week Thursday for Ann Arbor, Mich.,
to resume the search for Archie
Crandall's body. It was not found until
this week Wednesday. The body of
Henry Bacon was recovered Tuesday,
Miss Rysdorf's body has not been found.
Coronor E. B. Osgood went to Ann
Arbor to take charge of the remains
which were brought here Thursday.

The funeral was held at the family home
yesterday afternoon, Rev W. H. Overs
of Bradford, Pa., officiating.
