Harry Burback, 88, of Kimball, died at Kimball Health Services on November 19, 2014. Funeral services will be held November 24, 2014 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Harry Burback was born in Broadwater, Nebraska on January 5, 1926, the son of Henry and Anna (Honstein) Burback. He moved with his family to Kimball, he attended the Kimball Public Schools and graduated from the Kimball County High School in 1944. Harry was married to Beulah Smith on September 1, 1946 in Kimball. He worked for area farmers and also the Ford garage, where he learned the auto body repair trade. In 1953 he opened Plains Body Shop and also farmed in the area. He still had an active interest in both at the time of his death. He started farming at the age of 13 when his father unexpectly died. In 2003 he received the Outstanding Farmer and Rancher award in Kimball County.In his spare time he enjoyed gardening,restoring old farm equipment and collecting vintage cars. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 6 sisters Ann Strasheim, Lydia Talhelm, Elizabeth Strasheim, Esther Novotny, Helen Evertson and Irene young, 5 brothers Johnny, Henry, Conrad, Reuben and Richard and son-in-law Clyde Gibb.
