Mrs. Anna Weigand Herrigel, 46, Newark, N.J., wife of Fred Herrigel,Jr., former Essex County, N. J., surrogate, died Tuesday, September 23, 1941, at Presbyterian Hospital after a long illness.

She was born in Westminster, and went to Newark as a child. She moved to Short Hills 16 years ago. Mrs. Herrigel was active in organizations of First Methodist Protestant Church in Newark, where her father, the late Rev. Joseph A. Weigand, was assistant pastor. Rev. Weigand and family were well known here. She was past president of the Maud Lawson Missionary Society of the church and retired a year ago after serving as relief stewardess of the church for 10 years. She was also a member of Millburn Woman's Club and Auxiliary of the Home for the Aged, Newark.

In addition to her husband, she leaves three children, Fred 3rd, John Hunt and Ann Hopkins Herrigel and a sister, Mrs. Harry Lynn Fooks of East Orange. Funeral rites were conducted Thursday last at 2.30 P. M. at the Home for Services, Newark.
