Mr. Alfred Carmichael entered into eternal rest on November 6, 2000 at a local hospital. He was born in Mobile, AL to the late Mr. Edmond Carmichael and Mrs. Carrie Chapman. He was also preceded in death by one son, Alfred Carmichael, Jr . Mr. Carmichael became a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Yellow Bluff, AL and later became a member of the Christian Union Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late pastor, D.V. George. He served faithfully on the Senior Usher Board until his health failed. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Mary Carmichael; four children, Willie (Mattie) Carmichael, Dorothy Carmichael, Maggie (Stephen) Buford, all of Mobile, AL, Gloria (Fred) Dixon, Houston, TX; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Flora Jones; one brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Carmichael; a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends, one devoted cousin, Mary Thomas. The family would like to especially thank the staff of Crowne Nursing Facility. Visitation will be Saturday, November 11, 2000 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at Christian Union Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Jeffery T. Rainey, Pastor and Officiating Minister. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Cemetery, Theodore, AL. Service of love entrusted to AZALEA FUNERAL HOME, 352 State St, Mobile, AL.
