He did his classical studies and theology at the Seminary of Saint Hyacinthe from 1863 to 1874. He was ordained by Bishop Charles Laroque on October 25, 1874. He was a professor of philosophy, mathematics, astronomy and natural science at the Seminary of Saint Hyacinthe from 1874 to 1882. He was the designer of the collection of insects and the heribarium of the Seminar which were destroyed in the fire of 1963. He was a Vicar at Saint Jude in 1882 and a pastor of Fort Kent, Maine, from 1882 to 1904. He retired to Quebec City, where he died. He was the author of "The Plurality of Inhabited Worlds", Poetic Elevations", biography of "Dr. Pierre-Martial Bardy", "Nova et Vetera" and "Synthetic Treaty of Chess". He was also a contributor to "Canadian Naturalist" and translator of a missal, a catchism and a book of Father Walz, "The Glories of the Precious Blood".
