POINDEXTER EAST BEND Betty Ruth Johnston Poindexter Feb. 23, 1930-Dec. 1, 2014 Betty Ruth Johnston Poindexter, 84, of East Bend, passed away on December 1, 2014 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center of Yadkinville. She was born on February 23, 1930 to the late George Wilson and Allie Reece Johnston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James "Jim" Monroe Poindexter, a son James "Jim" Poindexter Jr., siblings Georgia Johnson, Wilson Johnston, Addie Durham, Luther Winfield "L.W." Johnston, Mary Louise Johnston, Charlie Johnston, Margaret Lineberry, Ronnie Johnston, Bill Johnston, Lorenia "Renie" Pruitt, Len Johnston and Bobby Johnston. Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter: Linda P. Taylor and husband Sam of Lewisville, two sons: Mike Poindexter and wife Sherry of East Bend, and Ricky Poindexter and wife Candy of Cleveland, SC; two sisters Gaynell Poindexter and Sadie Bryant; six grandchildren: Jonathan Poindexter, Karen Wall, Lisa Roper, Brian Poindexter, Amanda Poin-dexter, Sarah Graham, thirteen great-grandchildren: Justice, Jasmine, Madison, Savannah, Garrett, and Gracie Poindexter, Makena, Charles, Jr., Gabrielle, and Brody Graham, Brittany Anderson, Courtney Loflin, and Sarah Roper; three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Poindexter will be Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 3:00p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church where she was a member with Pastors Bobby Watts and Brian Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
