His headstone was applied for and signed for by his brother, Gus Armstrong. The stone was received by the freight station in Fountain, North Carolina from the Georgia Marble Company of Tate Georgia. Processing was started October 8, 1956 by the Office of the Quartermaster General Memorial Division, Washington 25, D.C.
