DEATH OF MR. GEO. ROBINSON Funeral services for Capt George C. Robinson, a former resident of Augusta and Beech Island, who died Sunday night, April 7, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. H. Breeland, in Allendale, were held Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock. He was born in Aiken County in 1847. Besides his daughter, Mrs. Breeland, he is survived by one son, George Robinson, of Miami, Fla., two sisters and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Robinson was born in Hamburg, December 11, 1847. He was a son of George and Anna Matilda Carter Robinson, and was a descendant of Lady Frances Cox, of Rutlandshire, England. When a lad of 17 Mr. Robinson enlisted with the Confederate Army, and after the war was given the honorary title of adjutant general of the Georgia division of Confederate survivors, and commanded the brigade three times. In the year 1877 he married Miss Laura Virginia Hankinson, of Beech Island, where they made their home for some time. He was later a prominent figure in the cotton business in Augusta, Ga., but when his health failed in his declining years the couple moved to Allendale and made their home with their only daughter, Mrs. Breeland. His wife preceded him to the grave a few years ago. Mr. Robinson was a member of the Episcopal Church, and was also a member of the Confederate Veterans.
