Rita Lochridge passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014 of progressive systemic scleroderma, a rare disease. She was born at the old hospital on Wilson St. in Bozeman, Sept. 21, 1934 to Franklin and Mett Barnes.

Rita was married and sealed to Paul Lorin Lochridge Nov. 9, 1955 in Idaho Falls Temple, Idaho. Throughout her life she lived in Great Falls, Twin Bridges, Three Forks, Bozeman, Albuquerque, N.M., Red Lodge, Livingston, Mont., Atlanta, Ga. and finished her life in Bozeman.

Rita loved most taking care of her family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and other handiworks, baking, hiking and puzzles. She played the organ and piano, loved singing and for a time was a member of the barbershop singers Sweet Adelines. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon).

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kenneth; brothers, Delbert (Buzz), Clifford, Grant, Neil and sister, Ruby. She is survived by: her husband, Paul; children, Rey Lain of Denver, Colo., Dain (Lori) of Alberta, Canada, Tauna of Winnemucca, Nev., Jeff (Julie) of Rexburg, Idaho, Susan (Rod) Potrie of, Alberta, Canada, Barry (Josie) of Dillon, Mont., Peggy (Brandon) Olson of Belgrade, Mont., Vance (Roxanne) of Yuma, Ariz., and Sabrina (Brian) Lisle of Bozeman; sisters, Vera Petersen of Oakland, Minn., Betty Jones of Addy, Wash.; 55 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2915 Colter Ave., Bozeman, on Friday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. Visitation from noon to 12:45 p.m. in the Relief Society Room, prior to the funeral.

Memorials may be made in Rita's name to the Perpetual Education Fund, Bozeman 2nd Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2915 Colter Ave., Bozeman, MT 59715.
