Mr. Aaron Lake [sic] died Thursday morning at his house about 4 o'clock a.m. He had ailing for a long time and was taken down with cholera morbus and was getting better when internal hemorrhage finished his useful and eventful life. His family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.

Died - at his home near Geneva, Thursday, August 20, 1891, Mr. Aaron Lake [sic].
The deceased was born in New York, in 1834 and was therefore, 57 years old at the time of his death. He was considered one of the "old settlers", having come to this country twenty five years ago. In 1872, he united with the Iola Baptist church, of which he was a respected member and officer at the time of his death. His loss will be keenly felt in the community where he lived so long and so worthily. His wife and four children survive him.
