Marie E. Borger, 88, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at V.I.P. Manor in Wood River.

She was born October 12, 1926 in Graham, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James Dalton and Lela (Vincent) Oliver.

She married Arthur M. Borger on March 4, 1944 and he passed away on December 22, 2010.

She was a member of CrossPoint Baptist Church in South Roxana. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Gwenda Pitchford of Maryville and Phyllis and Dennis Pereira of Eddyville, Kentucky; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Margie Borger of St. Louis; a former son-in-law, Terry Pitchford of St. Louis; three granddaughters, Michelle and Greg Sharp of St. Louis, Beth Brusatti of St. Louis and Nicole and Steve Kramer of Arnold, Missouri; a grandson, Todd and Lindsey Pereira of Greeley, Colorado; six great grandchildren, Jennifer, Nathan, Abby, Tyler, Alexa and Lucas; four great-great grandchildren, Ian, Ava, Cameron and Jaxon; a sister and brother-in-law, Lavern and Earl Smith of South Roxana; two brothers and a sister-in-law, James and Norma Oliver of Springfield, Missouri and William Oliver of St. James, Missouri; other extended family and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Borger and three sisters, Barbara Hill, Dorothy Austin and Henrietta Oliver.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Casey Lawson officiating.

Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
