Born in Arce, Province of Frosinone, Italy, a son of the late Eleuterio and Brigida (Quattrucci) Grimaldi, he settled in East Providence in 1934.
He was previously a supervisor at Quonset Point Naval Air Station for 25 years until its closing in 1973.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served with the Pacific Fleet. He was also a veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of Loggia Lucia Moderna Sons of Italy, East Providence, and the National Assiociation of Retired Federal Employees.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Jean Pennacchio of Cranston; two sons, Lawrence S. Grimaldi of Gloucester, Mass., and Paul E. Grimaldi of Warwick; a sister, Anita DeRosa of Charlestown; and four grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Mary Campanella.
Burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
