Mario S. Grimaldi, 69, of 57 Moorland Ave., a sheet metal worker at Gloucester Engineering Co., East Providence, from 1973 until retiring in 1982, died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of Mary (Maggiacomo) Grimaldi.

Born in Arce, Province of Frosinone, Italy, a son of the late Eleuterio and Brigida (Quattrucci) Grimaldi, he settled in East Providence in 1934.

He was previously a supervisor at Quonset Point Naval Air Station for 25 years until its closing in 1973.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served with the Pacific Fleet. He was also a veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of Loggia Lucia Moderna Sons of Italy, East Providence, and the National Assiociation of Retired Federal Employees.

Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Jean Pennacchio of Cranston; two sons, Lawrence S. Grimaldi of Gloucester, Mass., and Paul E. Grimaldi of Warwick; a sister, Anita DeRosa of Charlestown; and four grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late Mary Campanella.

Burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
