He was a native of Lyons, and was a 1959 graduate of Lyons High School. He retired from Altamaha Electric Membership Corporation in Lyons after fifty-three years of service. For many years, he purchased rattlesnakes, and was known as the “Rattlesnake Man”. He was a member of the Pinegrove Baptist Church in Collins where he taught the Elite Adult Sunday School class for many years. He was a member, past Master, former Treasurer, and Director of Works of Inman Creek Masonic Lodge # 491 in Johnson Corner.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, John Cleveland Anderson and Edna Cooper Anderson; two brothers, Fred Anderson and Wilbert Anderson; and a sister, Pearl Anderson Underwood.
Burial will be in the Lyons City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 2277, Vidalia GA 30475.
