Charles "Charlie' James Anderson, 76 of Collins, passed away Friday morning, February 16, 2018 at Meadows Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Anderson was born on August 1, 1941 to Mr. John Anderson, Sr. and Mrs. Edna Cooper in Toombs County; he lived in Tattnall County for 56 years and lived in Lyons for six years. He was a self-employed business owner, he owned and operated Charlie's convince store in Collins, he was a Tattnall County Commissioner for eight years and a Cattle and Hog Farmer. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Collins. In his spare time he enjoyed planting a large vegetable garden and he enjoyed sharing it with the community and loved people and especially those that needed help.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. John Anderson Sr. and Mrs. Edna Cooper; his wife, Janice Anderson; brothers, Johnny Anderson, Fred Anderson and Wilbert Anderson; sisters, Pearl Anderson and Nell Anderson; and a son, Chuck Anderson.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Hall of Collins; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Anderson (Stella) of Enterprise, Alabama, Earl Cooper of Marietta, Georgia and Tommy Cooper of St. George, Utah; twin sisters, Belle Williamson and Emma Jean both of Vidalia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held Monday afternoon, February 19, 2018 from the Pine Grove Baptist Church with the family receiving friends 12:30-2:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverends Reland Morgan and Jim Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Lyons City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be members of Roger Wood Lodge #438.
